Basic Cranberry Muffins

3/4 c Cranberries; halved
1/2 c Confectioners sugar
2 c Flour
1 tb Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 c Sugar; (to 1/3)
1 Egg; beaten
1 c Milk
1/4 c Butter; melted

Toss berries with confectioners sugar and set aside. Sift dry ingredients together and make a well in mixture. Add eggs, milk and butter all at once. Stir lightly until the dry ingredients are moist. Do not beat. Fold in berries and pour into greased muffin pan 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 12 muffins.
