Strawberry Nut Muffins

3/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 egg
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. mashed strawberries

Butter 12 large muffin cups or use paper liners. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda into large mixing bowl. Add chopped nuts. Beat together egg and butter, add to flour mixture with strawberries. Stir just until blended. Spoon into muffin cups and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they test done with a toothpick.
