Bran Muffins

1 c. Bran Buds cereal
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk
2 c. All Bran cereal


Pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 cup Bran Buds. Set aside to cool. Mix together sugar, shortening, eggs, flour, soda, salt and buttermilk. Add the cooled Bran Buds mixture. Add the All Bran. Mix and then refrigerate in tightly covered container. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Mixture will keep up to 5 weeks in refrigerator.
