Christmas Muffins

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tbsp. butter, softened
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. cranberries
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract


Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine flour, slat, and soda; mix well. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add water, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and cranberries, stir until moistened. Fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake for 30 minutes until brown. Combine 1/2 cup butter, sugar, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and vanilla in saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Serve war sauce with warm muffins. 12 muffins.
