Sugar Crusted Muffins

2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. soft butter
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. milk

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add butter, egg and milk. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Sprinkle a mixture of 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 c. chopped nuts on top. Bake in 400 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
